About

The preservation of the local audiovisual heritage is a topic of great social, political, historical and cultural importance. With the mobilization of many sectors of civil society and public authorities, in 2019 a project was prepared to restore part of the collection of the Museum of Image and Sound of Campinas.

The so-called "Risk Management and Restoration Plan for the Campineiro Collection of MIS-Campinas" was included in the Public Notice for the Cultural Action Program of the São Paulo State Department of Culture (ProAC). Throughout 2020 and 2021, in addition to the restoration itself, the project is complemented by the Aldir Blanc law, with the International Seminar on Regional Film Collections.

The objective of the Seminar is to share experiences, reflect on common difficulties and plan joint and collaborative actions within the scope of local initiatives to preserve regional film collections.

The initiative also relates to other relevant movements in the region, such as the Amilar Alves Week and the São Paulo Interior Cinema Meeting (ICine).
